I began taking notes on my photos at the end of the day beginning in Fukushima, Japan. From those early notes, a project evolved in a series of little visual poems. Having spent 15 years witnessing the violence that the changing climate has been responsible for in the most immediate of ways, when creating my project Citizens of the Anthropocene, I found myself needing a way to contemplate and reflect on our changing world. My contribution to the Instagram project, Everyday Climate Change, is the ongoing result of that.
A collaborative effort from photographers on every continent Everyday Climate Change documents the small and large changes to our planet as it warms due to human activity. Special thanks to James Whitlow Delano for creating the feed and seeing this most important of projects through since its inception.
